Alice Vance is an emerging set & costume designer for stage and screen. Her design practice is driven by a love of vintage charm and draws from an artistic focus. Alice seeks to entice audiences with detail to invite a second look and surprise through a playful, yet conceptual approach. Alice’s work is rooted in her passion for people, and eagerness to create an impact.
Her design credits include Set & Props design for NIDA student productions: Orpheus in the Underworld, Dance Nation; Costume design for student productions at NIDA: Dance Nation, Photograph 51. Production and costume design for triple J x NIDA music video: “London” by chloe: the brand. Alice additionally co-directed and wrote for the NIDA Design for Performance Campaign: “Feed your creativity, Find your place”.

Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers, a comic operetta satirising the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Our production was designed through the love of 1940s Hollywood musicals, unapologetic theatricality and the smelly destruction of it all.

chloe: the brand’s music video “london”. The video takes us on a journey through history, recontextualising iconic queer figures in a mystically beautiful adventure. An absurd array of animal-headed dancers, colourful historical costumes, and a mysterious library give backdrop to the artist as they long for something new.
